It is Finished.

For a joy-filled and restful conscience, we must understand what Jesus came to do—to forgive sin, defeat death, disarm Satan, establish His Kingdom, restore mankind's purpose, and do away with every flawed way we relate to Him. He did not leave any of this work incomplete, nor was it a distant dream or promise that would only be fully revealed in Heaven. The good news is that Jesus came to do a work and complete it through His death, burial, and resurrection. 

The Gospel is good news!

Philippians

Pauls letter to the Philippians church was written to encourage a church who were facing intense persecution. Paul, himself, wrote this letter while in chains.

He urged them “to rejoice” in all things. Having joy in the midst of suffering and trails is not an emotion that is manufactured in order to get by. Joy is a response that looks like confident expectation that God is who He said He is in every season or situation.

Ephesians

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:4-6)

Discover your inheritance in Christ. Rest in Christ’s finished work. Be empowered to live life in light of His grace. Stand confident through His power at work in you.

The Gospel of John

A New Covenant Study

The Gospel of John is one of my favorite of the four Gospels. It is the only one that is not synoptic (meaning its stories of Jesus' miracles are unique and mostly not in the other books. It has a different purpose than the other three, which harmonize in their telling of healings and miracles.) It is a book written to convince the world of Jesus and His deity. It is written so that the world (the unbeliever) would believe. "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." John 20:31.

For the believer, it is written so that you might know and be convinced of the love of God.
